Orioles jerseys, Ripken The BestTHE MAILBAG LETTERS TO THE SPORTS EDITOR
April 12, 1998
Orioles jerseys, Ripken the best Too often you hear about how badly professional sports teams treat their fans or how unconcerned they are for anything but the almighty buck.
I have a friend who is quite sick. He had been in the hospital a week and a half when I realized how much Cal Ripken Jr. and the Orioles jerseys meant to him. On my return to the office, I remembered a game the Marlins jerseys played against the Orioles jerseys last year.
It was rain delayed for quite a while, but to my daughter’s and my amazement, Ripken came out of the dugout and into the stands and signed autographs for more than an hour.
We have often talked about how much he meant to the kids and all baseball fans.
With that thought in mind, I called the Orioles jerseys’ spring training facility at and was stunned at how I was received.
From Judy Prisk to Laura Williams, I was treated absolutley wonderfully. I asked if maybe Cal Ripken could autograph the jersey for my friend, Ty.
It took the Orioles jerseys organization about 10 minutes to let me know that Cal would be more than happy to help out.
I was asked to cheap authentic jerseys bring the jersey over as soon as possible. Upon my arrival I was greeted by the most gracious staff of employees one could imagine.
Laura Williams was so kind and even had gone a step further. She wanted me to immediately take an autographed team ball to Ty.
I had not asked for anything, they voluteered to help a very depressed young man. I cannot explain to you just how nice and considerate the Orioles jerseys organiation was.
I brought the ball to Ty along with some baseball things I had gotten. If I had brought a million dollars it wouldn’t have meant as much to Ty as the Orioles jerseys baseball.
On Saturday, Laura Williams tracked me down to say Cal had signed the jersey. I was at the stadium in a flash and was again surprised at how well I was treated and what Cap Ripken wrote and the wonderful message he sent for Ty.
I can only imagine how many requests are made of Mr. Baseball, but I’ll bet he handles them all.
The Baltimore Orioles jerseys organization did not get any publicity, they did not get any money _ they spent it on special gifts for Ty. Cal Ripken never concerned himself with anything but trying to help Ty.
I can tell you, I am going to be a big Orioles jerseys fan in the future, not only because they did a wonderful thing but because as a whole they are a wonderful organization.
LARRY HERRONHuizenga merits salute
Regarding the less than warm welcome of Mr. Huizenga at the Marlins jerseys’ Opening Day game:
Parents, is this what we want to teach our children? Did we forget what we witnessed in 1997? Did we forget the celebration at Pro Player Stadium when Gloria Estefan sang a song to praise our beloved Marlins jerseys or even the boat parade up the New River and gathering at Esplanade Park in ?
Well, to Mr. Huizenga and everyone involved in the Marlins jerseys organization: Thank you for letting my son and me be a part of history and also able to see the World Series Trophy up close.
Thanks for coverage
I want to say thank you for your coverage of high school sports. I am about to graduate from high school, and I have enjoyed waking up to your sports coverage.
Your coverage of the games, listing of the statistics and rankings are superior to all other papers. Thank you for making my high school years memorable by keeping up with what is going on in high school sports.
